After a busy, and at times unpredictable, week in Westminster it was good to be back in the constituency meeting residents and seeing some of the fantastic work that is being undertaken in our local communities.

Saturday morning began bright and early with a visit to one of the many Spring events taking place across Aldridge-Brownhills. A few spins on the tombola, and raffle tickets later, and not forgetting a homemade cherry pie for tea, and a fruit cake to take with me into the Whips office on Monday morning, it was a very enjoyable morning. Thank you everyone!

It was once again a pleasure to be able to support you at your coffee morning at Daw End Methodist Church. It was then on to Pelsall Methodist Church to open the Spring Fayre in support of Walsall North Foodbank. I was also very interested to hear about the Foodbank “200 Club” launched to provide further regular financial support for the work they do.

The work undertaken by our network of local Churches in Shelfield, Pelsall and Walsall Wood as well as our community groups, schools and individuals to support Foodbank is to be commended. Let’s not forget that behind every community event or organisation there is a team of volunteers and supporters helping to make things happen. Thank you.
