I am regularly contacted by constituents from across Aldridge-Brownhills who have been given unfair parking fines. That is why the Government believe that it is time to take action.
I am pleased that a new code of practice will be introduced and extended to private parking firms. This will mean that most fines will be capped at £50, with a statutory 50% discount for payment within 14 days, it will also entitle motorists to a ten-minute grace period before a fine can be issued.
I believe that these small measures will help to give greater protection to motorists.
