It was good to hear the Secretary of State, Michael Gove, announce this week that Green Belt land should be protected from the threat of housing and that he has adopted a Brownfield First approach to development – a policy long championed by myself and Mayor Andy Street.
Across my Aldridge-Brownhills constituency we continue to campaign to protect Green Belt sites under pressure from developers and to support Mayor Andy Street for a Brownfield First approach to development.
It’s important that it is made quicker and easier for brownfield sites to be redeveloped for housing, to help tackle the need for new homes, whilst also protecting our precious Green Belt.
