It was great to meet with Mandy and her team of Directors at Samaritans Walsall last week to hear first-hand about the service they provide as part of the wider work of the Samaritans.

I was really interested to learn more about how the phone line and email service works to support anyone who makes contact. Providing emotional support all year round by phone, email, SMS and Face to Face for those struggling or in crisis, including those who are feeling suicidal. Their work is far ranging from crisis support including visits to local schools, workplaces and hospitals as well as training for organisations in listening techniques and awareness of good mental health.
Nobody should feel that they do not have someone to talk to and the work of the Samaritans plays a vital role in providing support and someone to listen. Thank you to the team in Walsall for taking the time to meet with me and to the many volunteers who help to keep the service available to all.
