Events are taking place this week across England to celebrate the success of apprenticeships and to encourage even more people to choose an apprenticeship as a pathway to a great career.

This year’s theme for National Apprenticeship Week is ‘build the future’; reflecting on how apprenticeships can help individuals to develop the skills and knowledge required for a rewarding career, and businesses to develop a talented workforce that is equipped with future-ready skills.

I have always been a big supporter of Apprenticeships and the role they play in bridging the skills gap and there is nothing like hearing from young people about their experiences and their achievements. Here in my Aldridge-Brownhills constituency, we are fortunate to have InComm Training and Business Services where I have met with employers and apprentices.

I congratulate our local employers who are willing to invest time and money into apprentices as the skills gap would be a lot wider without their continued investment.
