Our National Health Service today celebrates its 75th Anniversary.
This is an important moment for us all to celebrate the achievements of the NHS, to appreciate the vital role it plays in our lives, and to recognise and thank the extraordinary staff who are the everyday heroes providing support and care for us, day in, day out.
Like you, my family and I have always relied on the NHS, and I want to see us continue to preserve the value of fairness on which it was founded, whilst building the NHS of the future, ensuring it is there for future generations, just as it has been in the past.
I am particularly proud in this 75th year of our precious NHS that we have just opened the new Accident and Emergency Centre at Walsall Manor Hospital.
The new £36 million facility is providing lifesaving services for all my Aldridge-Brownhills constituents, and I commend all of the staff at Walsall Manor Hospital who work so hard on our behalf.
Happy Birthday to our National Health Service.
