At the start of this week, I was in Birmingham attending the annual Conservative Party Conference. It was a good opportunity to meet with a large cross section of representatives from the charitable and voluntary sector who were also attending.
As a Dementia Friend it was good to meet up with the Alzheimer’s Society and hear more about their latest campaigns. I also met with the British Heart Foundation, the Red Cross and Marie Curie Cancer all organisations which are important to a number of my constituents across Aldridge-Brownhills.
It was good to see and speak to representatives NFU again and reinforce my support for their campaign to Back British Farming and buy British produce.
The charitable and voluntary sector provide vital work in our every day lives and it was great to be able to meet so many of them in Birmingham and hear more about the valuable work that they are doing.
