It was good to be able to be able to attend the Committee Stage of the Child Support Collection (Domestic Abuse) Bill and support this important piece of legislation.
This seeks to help victims of domestic abuse by allowing for a Child Maintenance Service case to use “Collect and Pay”, if one parent objects to using the “Direct Pay” service on the grounds of domestic abuse by the other parent.
The Bill will return to the House of Commons before hopefully going up to the House of Lords for consideration.
