Undoubtedly the Covid-19 pandemic has had a devastating effect on our economy and has sadly resulted in some people across the West Midlands losing their jobs.

Last week’s budget sought to protect employment with an extension of the furlough scheme and support for people who are self-employed.

It is however, thanks to Mayor Andy Street we have a local plan to create more than 100,000 jobs in the region over the next two-years. This will ensure that the West Midlands and my Aldridge-Brownhills constituency are at the forefront of being able to Build Back Better.
